Now the development of project documents leading to the cutting down of valuable species of trees and shrubs with damage to the flora is a reason for administrative responsibility.

This is provided for the Law "On amendments and additions to some legislative documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan", signed by the President.

According to the law, administrative sanctions for illegal felling or damage to trees have been strengthened, and duplicate regulations have been eliminated.

Moreover, in the "Law on the Protection and Use of Flora", individuals who illegally cut down or destroy valuable trees and shrubs that are not part of the state forest fund are required to plant compensation trees in the same location. The law also obliges to take care of planted trees for 3 years.

In addition, financial sanctions will be applied to legal entities that illegally cut down or destroy valuable species of trees and shrubs.

The law came into force on March 1, 2024.
