During the visit to our country, representatives of the UAE delegation took part in the opening of the exhibition of archaeological finds of the Emirate of Sharjah, held at the Art Residence of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", as well as in the opening of the exhibition "Samarkand - the cradle of the National Drama Theater" in the art gallery Art Station.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition "Samarkand is the cradle of the National Drama Theater" was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection,  and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov and representatives of the UAE delegation.

At the event, Sheikh Fahim ibn Sultan Al Qasimi was presented with an exhibition, as well as information about the activities of the outstanding Uzbek actress Sarah Ishanturayeva, who laid the foundations of dramatic art in Uzbekistan in the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition made a great impression on the guests.

"The exhibition tells the story of the actress, as well as that of other famous artists. Its goal is to form a generation of actors who will tell about the fate of Sarah Ishanturayeva and other public figures of Uzbekistan who devoted their lives to art and education", said Durdona Kulmatova, curator of the exhibition.

The main collection of the exhibition covers the period from 1924 to 1937 and consists of paintings depicting the backstage life of the theater team, archival documents, and personal belongings of Sarah Ishanturaeva and Abror Hidoyatov, including costumes, props, and jewelry. The collection also includes later photographs of the actress and a video interview with a story about the actress by her granddaughter, Nadira Hidoyatova.

For information: during her 70-year creative career, which began in Samarkand, Sarah Ishanturayeva has performed more than 100 roles in theater and cinema. She has received numerous awards for her work and social activism.
